Srinagar / New Delhi: The number of people killed in the terrorist attack on CRPF convoy in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir has increased to 40. The CRPF said on the death of the soldiers that it can not be forgotten. This cowardly assault will be avenged.

A suicide bomber from Jaish-e-Mohammed hit a bus carrying 100 kg explosive-laden vehicle in a bus carrying CRPF jawans in Pulwama district on Thursday. Senior officer said, “A total of 40 jawans have died in Avantipura of Jammu and Kashmir. Five jawans are injured. ”
After the attack, the CRPF has issued an alert to take ‘very vigilance’ to all its establishments in the Kashmir Valley and other places in the state. RR Bhatnagar, Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and senior officers of the force are leaving for Kashmir as part of a team going under the leadership of Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
There is a possibility of meeting their wounded, who are recruited in the army’s 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar. It is worth mentioning that more than 2,500 CRPF jawans were traveling in 78 vehicles in the convoy when militants attacked on Srinagar-Jammu highway at around 3:15 pm on Thursday in an ambush in Latimod of Avantipur in south Kashmir. Most of the youth were returning to duty again after the holiday.
Officials said that the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist group based in Pakistan has taken responsibility for the attack. The attack happened about 20 kilometers away from Srinagar. Police identified the suicide bomber as Adil Ahmed. Officials said that he had joined Jaish-e-Mohammad in 2018.
An official at the scene told that he was driving 100 kilograms of explosive-laden vehicles in the opposite direction of the road and hit the bus in front of which 39 to 44 people were traveling. The sound of this powerful explosion was heard for several kilometers away. It is estimated that high-grade explosives of 70-80 kilograms were used in the attack.
